As the bassist for the Glengarry Bhoys, I have to provide everything from traditional upright bass sounding lines behind acoustic Celtic numbers, to extremely percussive electric 5-string bass lines for high energy Celtic rock tunes. The Billy Sheehan Preamp is the best sounding and most versatile preamplifier in the world with separate individual channels and combined channel capability. The multiple tone and separate gain and volume controls allow me to create an unlimited palette of musical tones and colors with which to paint the stage for audiences ranging from the Duke of Edinburgh, to the Washington Press Club, to national PBS simulcasts, and to huge outdoor stadium and festival events. The tuner out is also fantastic for between number tuning as I kick in the mute switch, fine tune for the stage, drop tune for B flat bagpipe numbers, kick the mute switch back out and tear it up. The amazing tone quality and range of sounds of the SVT-BSP Preamplifier is limitless, and when used with the SVP-1600 Amplifier, is the very best that I have ever played. For bands like the Glengarry Bhoys that are playing 200 plus gigs a year, everything always has to work... AND EVERYTHING AMPEG ALWAYS DOES!!!
